Sovereign Capital is led by a team that has worked together for many years across asset management and investment structuring.
Each member brings experience from their respective field, forming a leadership group with complementary expertise and a shared approach to building investment platforms.
Chief Executive Officer
Martin Linder is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sovereign Capital. He provides leadership across deal sourcing, investment structuring, and investor engagement. Most recently, he co-founded Global Partners, where he launched two funds and raised over USD 532 million. Martin started his career with Goldman Sachs in 2000 before joining Partners Group in 2002, a global private equity and real estate asset manager with current assets under management in excess of USD 100 billion. During his nine years at Partners Group, he contributed to the development of the firm through its formative growth years into one of Europe’s leading alternative asset managers.
He also held senior roles at Bank Vontobel before relocating to Dubai in 2014 to establish the Dubai office of a Swiss-originated emerging markets fund manager, where he grew assets under management to over USD 3 billion. Martin is an attorney at law admitted to the Zurich courts and across Switzerland. He holds a Master of Laws degree (cum laude) from the University of Zurich.
Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer
Christopher Wilmot is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Sovereign Capital. He leads operations and finance, oversees the investment process, and focuses on risk management and operational oversight. Most recently, Chris co-launched Global Partners alongside Martin Linder. Prior to this, he spent 14 years at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), where he helped establish and manage a highly successful multi-billion dollar concentrated global equity fund as Deputy Head of Equity Opportunities. During this period, he also took a one-year sabbatical in 2008 to assist in launching Leebrook Global Investments in the DIFC.
Before joining ADIA, Chris served as Head of Research at Sovereign Asset Management in Dubai. He began his career with Ernst & Young in South Africa in 1989 before moving into stockbroking and investment banking roles with UBS and WI Carr in Hong Kong, and Deutsche Bank in London between 1993 and 2004. Chris is a Chartered Accountant from South Africa, holds an Honours degree in Accounting from Rhodes University, and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Together, the team brings decades of experience across international financial markets and guides the development of Sovereign Capital.
Office Manager
Lalaine Magnifica is responsible for office management at Sovereign Capital, ensuring efficient daily operations across the firm. She plays a key role in coordinating with internal teams and external service providers, and maintaining well-structured records to support finance, HR, compliance, and regulatory requirements in line with DIFC and DFSA standards.
With more than two decades of experience in multinational companies across the UAE and the Philippines, Lalaine brings a strong foundation in office management, HR administration, and executive support. Her career has spanned a wide range of functions including onboarding, vendor coordination, company set-up processes, compliance documentation, and day-to-day coordination with internal and external parties. She holds an MBA and a certification in Human Resource Management, and is known for her structured approach, attention to detail, and ability to keep operations running seamlessly.

Head of Corporate Administration
Janina Takacs is Head of Corporate Administration, leading the firm’s administration, governance, and people function. She is responsible for the execution of board-level direction and corporate strategy, ensuring alignment across compliance, operations, and the firm’s people agenda. In this capacity, she embeds structure, accountability, and regulatory integrity across the organization, maintaining a disciplined operating environment and ensuring the business is appropriately resourced, structured, and positioned for long-term growth.
With over a decade of experience in regulated financial services, Janina has built an international career across Asia-Pacific, the Gulf, and European markets. She has held senior roles within DFSA-regulated firms, financial services groups, regulated fund entities, and international organizations. Her experience spans corporate governance, investor relations, statutory compliance, and organizational leadership, with a track record of operating effectively within complex, multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments. A certified International Compliance Officer and CIPD-qualified professional, she brings a governance-led, execution-focused approach to building stable, well-structured organizations across jurisdictions.
Head of Compliance & MLRO
Mukhtar Raja is Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer at Sovereign Capital and a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership team, where he leads the firm’s regulatory compliance and financial crime functions. He oversees the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the firm’s governance, risk and compliance framework, engaging directly with regulators and key institutional stakeholders to uphold the firm’s standing and ensure it operates to the highest regulatory and ethical standards. He also acts as a trusted adviser to the Board on complex regulatory, governance, strategic and financial crime matters, providing guidance on key business decisions, regulatory risk, and the evolving expectations of regulators across the DIFC and wider international financial services landscape.
Mukhtar brings over 15 years of experience across leading financial centres in the UK and the Middle East, advising asset managers, financial institutions and private offices on complex, high-profile and cross-border regulatory and financial crime matters. He has been approved by the Dubai Financial Services Authority and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority to perform key controlled functions, including Compliance Officer and MLRO. He previously spent almost a decade at the Financial Conduct Authority UK, where he was involved in the authorisation, supervision and oversight of regulated firms and contributed to significant regulatory initiatives. He also held roles within compliance and financial crime at HSBC UK. Legally trained in the UK, Mukhtar holds a law degree from the University of Westminster and is a trusted adviser to senior management, boards and private capital clients on regulatory strategy, governance and financial crime risk, particularly in the context of complex structures and evolving regulatory environments.
Head of Marketing and Communications
Jane is the Head of Marketing & Communications at Sovereign Capital. She brings over eight years of experience within DFSA-regulated firms operating in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), complemented by broader experience across marketing, branding, and communications. Her work focuses on institutional marketing, investor relations, brand positioning, and compliance-aligned communications for alternative investment and real estate platforms.
Throughout her career, Jane has worked closely with executive management, board members, legal, compliance, and investor relations teams within regulated financial environments. Her experience spans investor engagement, fundraising support, stakeholder communications, corporate branding, digital marketing, public relations, website development, and the coordination of investor-facing materials across international markets, with a particular focus on the real estate sector. She also oversees public relations and communications activities, ensuring marketing materials and external communications remain aligned with governance standards and DFSA compliance requirements.
Head of Accounting
Coreen is Head of Accounting at a Category 3C firm based in the Dubai International Financial Centre, responsible for financial reporting, control, and regulatory compliance. She leads the delivery of IFRS-compliant reporting in line with Dubai Financial Services Authority requirements, overseeing fund accounting and administration for private equity structures and ensuring robust governance, audit readiness, and alignment across complex investment vehicles and prudential reporting obligations.
She brings over 18 years of experience across financial services in the GCC and Europe, with a strong focus on financial reporting, governance, and operational oversight, including UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance with the Federal Tax Authority. She has a proven track record in strengthening financial reporting frameworks, enhancing governance standards, and supporting multi-jurisdictional financial operations in regulated environments. Coreen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy and is a Certified Management Accountant, and is recognized for technical precision, disciplined execution, and delivering investor-grade financial reporting within regulated investment structures.
Portfolio Analyst
Youssef Tayah leads investment analysis, financial modelling, and partner interaction across Sovereign Capital’s fund strategies. He works on opportunities spanning real estate, private equity, and alternative investments across MENA and European markets, contributing to deal evaluation, structuring, and execution alongside the firm’s senior team, and works closely with investment partners from initial engagement through to commitment.
Prior to joining Sovereign Capital, Youssef held roles across global wealth management and financial services in London, most notably at Alvarium Tiedemann (AlTi Global), where he contributed to the management of ultra-high-net-worth portfolios across private equity, venture capital, and direct investments. He holds an MSc in Engineering with Finance from University College London (UCL), and is trilingual in English, French, and Arabic. With cross-sector expertise and an international network spanning Europe and the Middle East, he combines analytical depth with a transactional, relationship-
led approach to sourcing compelling opportunities and structuring sound transactions.

Senior Advisor – Private Office & Strategic Relationships
At Sovereign Capital, Maya Touati serves as Senior Advisor to the Private Office & Strategic Relationships function, supporting stakeholder engagement and strategic relationships across regional and international markets.
Her role includes supporting relationships with institutional stakeholders, family offices, and strategic partners across the GCC and internationally, while contributing to broader initiatives aligned with the firm’s long-term objectives.
Head of Private Office, Sovereign Capital
Claire Sobhane is Head of Private Office at Sovereign Capital, where she serves as strategic advisor and operational lead to the Principal. She supports the coordination of long-term strategic initiatives, stakeholder engagement, cross-border partnerships, and executive communications across the UAE and international markets.
Claire holds degrees from Paris IV–Sorbonne University and ESCP Business School. She is fluent in French, English, and Italian, and has working knowledge of Arabic.
Her work focuses on international partnerships, governance, culture, and emerging technologies, particularly within evolving institutional and business ecosystems. She is also engaged in initiatives exploring Dubai’s role in shaping future intellectual, cultural, and institutional frameworks.
